It's a challenge for Australia to set fresh records.

The top summits have long been mastered.

We're talking about the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and once went nearly four years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, those for the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a side that has achieved everything.

That it took as late as Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, taking back their record for the highest in the female 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the bowlers that have represented Australia over five decades.

It's difficult for their batsmen to hold a record if not provided the chance.

Ultimately, the consequence of Australia conceding 330 was leader Alyssa Healy being given a platform to produce her latest masterpiece.

Then best known as the 19-year-old niece of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her country failed to win either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has experienced everything through 15 successful years since.

A T20 World Cup win arrived three months after her bow and seven global championships have resulted from 10 attempts across formats.

The tough gloveman was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India temporarily stopped the winning streak.

That loss "pushed us to reevaluate our levels," Healy said this week.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the final and was declared player of the series. She guaranteed her country would not come up short.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement is debatable.

Some will argue the reasoning behind championship match pressure. Some might respond with the test that comes when confronting a historic chase and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's clear is this hundred was much more difficult to see coming.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 happened while she was the highest scorer, but this knock came after six matches in India over the past few weeks in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"For those following me in training, it's been a challenging time because I feel like I've had no rhythm whatsoever," said Healy.

"However when you step out on the field, your competitive nature activate and you completely engage with the match."

Healy's competitive nature has consistently been her key asset - and an invaluable trait in succeeding iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, dismissed by the 22-year-old seamer in every game, but here that only provided Healy's spark.

A single was taken off Gaud's first delivery and from there Healy was in motion.

"An opportunity to play and face the challenge with her and merely enjoy the moment in that aspect, somewhat inspired me," said Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 pitches - her swiftest at the World Cup - and her ton in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, hitting 21 fours and three sixes.

When she was dismissed her side needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - a manageable total now needing a comfortable finish.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm happy we have the confidence to accomplish that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, if we do, we believe we can achieve it."

These statements will be the final thing rival teams at this tournament need to hear.

In recent days a feeling they will triumph from any situation has only strengthened - this success following win against Pakistan by 107 runs despite struggling at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final berth may probably be guaranteed.

During that phase they were eliminated from the prior year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a game Healy couldn't play because of damaged tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the inaugural occasion at an important competition.

So great is her will, she afterwards commented she wanted to have participated with the discomfort.

But while she afterwards confessed those injuries have delayed thoughts of retirement, this championship is anticipated as her concluding event as leader in one-day cricket and she is still to achieve a world championship as captain.

Success in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
